COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGES OF UKRAINIAN AGRICULTURAL EXPORTS UNDER MARTIAL LAW AND EUROPEAN INTEGRATION

Abstract

The article is devoted to current issues of the development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector in the context of martial law and European integration. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to better understand the transformation processes taking place in Ukraine’s agricultural sector under the combined influence of war and European integration. These factors have significantly changed the conditions of foreign economic activity, affected export routes, and increased the importance of maintaining stable positions in international markets. The purpose of the article is to assess the competitive advantages of Ukraine’s agricultural exports and to identify the main trends in their development under changing external conditions. The research methodology is based on a combination of general scientific and special methods, including analysis, synthesis, comparison, and index methods. In particular, based on the index of revealed comparative advantages and an integral approach, the competitive positions of Ukraine in the global grain markets are evaluated. The use of an index approach allows for evaluating the level of competitiveness and identifying structural changes in export activities across different geographical markets, ensuring a more objective assessment of export performance. The results show that Ukraine’s agricultural exports demonstrate significant differentiation depending on specific markets and directions. A gradual reorientation of export flows towards more dynamic and economically attractive destinations is observed, with a growing role of the European Union, as well as countries in Asia and North Africa. It is established that competitiveness depends not only on production potential but also on external factors, including logistics constraints, market access conditions, and regulatory requirements. At the same time, the importance of diversification of export destinations is increasing as a key condition for sustainable export development. The study emphasizes that maintaining competitiveness requires not only adaptation to external challenges but also the development of flexible export strategies. This involves improving responsiveness to market changes, strengthening international trade cooperation, and ensuring more efficient use of production and logistics capacities. The practical value of the study lies in the possibility of applying its results to improve export strategies, enhance the efficiency of foreign economic activity, and support decision-making in the field of agricultural policy under conditions of economic instability and structural transformation.
