CURRENT TRENDS IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC EUROPEAN INTEGRATION IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION TECHNOLOGICAL AND SECURITY CHALLENGES
Abstract
The relevance of the study is determined by the increasing influence of globalization, technological transformations, and security challenges on the stability and effectiveness of European economic integration, which requires a comprehensive scientific understanding of contemporary trends and adaptation mechanisms within the international economic environment. The purpose of the article is to identify and analyze current trends in the development of European economic integration in the context of globalization, technological, and security challenges, and to determine managerial approaches that ensure the stability and effectiveness of integration processes within the European economic space. Methods: analysis of scientific literature – to examine the current state of research on the problem; generalization and systematization – to present the research results. It was established that European economic integration remains a key mechanism for strengthening cooperation among countries within the system of international economic relations, facilitating market expansion, intensifying trade and investment flows, and fostering a coordinated institutional environment for sustainable economic development. It was noted that globalization processes significantly influence the transformation of the European economic space by increasing economic interdependence, accelerating the digital transformation, and stimulating the integration of innovative technologies into economic cooperation mechanisms. It was established that digitalization, artificial intelligence, automation, and digital platforms play an important role in enhancing cross-border economic interaction and contribute to the formation of new models of international economic cooperation within the integrated European market. Particular attention was given to the growing impact of geopolitical, economic, and energy risks, which affect the stability of integration processes and require the development of comprehensive economic security strategies within the European economic space. Thus, the integration of technological innovation, coordinated economic governance, and security-oriented policy strategies forms the basis for the long-term stability and sustainable development of the European economic space.
