HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY: THE CONCEPT OF INCLUSIVITY IN CONTEMPORARY CONDITIONS

Abstract

Tourism in contemporary conditions is evolving from the creation of barrier-free spaces to the provision of barrier-free services, which entails a systematic consideration of the needs of all categories of travelers, including those with physical, sensory, linguistic, or cultural differences. In Ukraine, the concept of inclusive tourism is currently at the stage of implementation and scientific-practical reflection, integrating travel agencies, transport companies, hotels, restaurants, sports, and entertainment facilities, whose activities act as catalysts for the development of economic sectors and the resolution of regional socio-economic challenges. The full-scale war in the eastern and southern regions of the country has created additional challenges for the hospitality industry, including infrastructure destruction and negative impacts on the economic stability of enterprises. At the same time, the sector is actively developing adaptive strategies that allow for a rethinking of tourism organization and ensuring accessibility for diverse population groups. The scientific significance of the issue lies in the formation of methodology and conceptual foundations of inclusive tourism in Ukraine, while its practical relevance is associated with the development of effective models for providing barrier-free tourist services adapted to contemporary socio-economic and technological conditions. This article investigates contemporary approaches to the development of inclusive tourism in Ukraine's hospitality industry, emphasizing the provision of accessibility and barrier-free services for people with disabilities, the elderly, temporarily injured individuals, and those facing linguistic or cultural barriers. Using Lviv as a case study, the research analyzes the integration of technological solutions, adapted transport, mobile applications, staff training, and the coordination of governmental and non-governmental sectors. It is established that the comprehensive interaction of these elements enhances social integration, tourist autonomy, and the economic potential of the hospitality industry. The study outlines prospects for implementing individualized models of barrier-free service provision and digital technologies at the regional level.
