Abstract

The article investigates the economic mechanisms underlying the development of designer business in Ukraine under the conditions of digitalization and globalization. It clarifies the concepts of “creative industries” and “designer business” and substantiates their interrelation, highlighting their key role in generating added value, fostering competitiveness, and ensuring sustainable growth within the national economy. Based on statistical data from design business entities for the period 2021–2024, the dynamics of the number of taxpayers, income volumes, and tax payments were examined, and patterns were identified that reflect the influence of digital and global factors. The research demonstrates that digitalization functions as a primary mechanism for business scaling, enabling efficient utilization of intellectual capital, rapid expansion of market reach, enhancement of productivity, and integration into online and international platforms. Globalization exerts competitive pressure, stimulating market selection, business consolidation, and strategic adaptation of business models toward specialization, branding, and export-oriented services. Despite fluctuations in tax payments, the economic potential of designer enterprises remains high, reflecting their resilience and capacity for innovation. The study emphasizes that the interplay of entrepreneurial adaptation, digital capitalization, fiscal-institutional regulation, and market mechanisms forms a coherent system that supports sustainable growth, competitive advantage, and resilience of designer business in a turbulent and interconnected economic environment. The findings provide practical recommendations for policymakers and business managers, including the development of digital competencies, adoption of innovative technologies, export promotion, and strategic branding, to strengthen Ukraine’s position in the global creative economy and enhance the long-term sustainability and profitability of designer enterprises.
