GUIDELINES FOR FORMING A STRATEGY FOR ECONOMIC SECURITY OF ENTREPRENEURIAL ACTIVITY IN INDUSTRY 5.0 PARADIGM
Abstract
The article examines current challenges in establishing the economic security of entrepreneurial activity within the emerging industrial paradigm Industry 5.0. The study specifies how the external environment of enterprises is reshaped by human-centricity, digital sustainability, commitment to sustainable development, and ecosystem-based interaction among firms, consumers, regulators, and technology providers. It demonstrates that traditional, internally focused security strategies are becoming ineffective because economic dynamics, digital technologies, and social expectations evolve in a highly complex, uncertain, and interdependent manner. Particular attention is given to the transformation of risks that determine enterprise economic security. Under Industry 5.0, risks become systemic, interdisciplinary, and socio-technical: they extend beyond operational and financial threats and increasingly include cognitive risks (bias, misinformation, decision fatigue), technological risks (AI failures, cyber-physical disruptions, data misuse), reputational risks amplified by platform logics, and ESG-related risks associated with environmental impact, social resilience, and governance integrity. Such risk evolution changes the logic of identification, assessment, and mitigation, requiring continuous monitoring, scenario thinking, and stakeholder-oriented accountability. Based on the revealed risk shifts, the article proposes guidelines for developing and implementing an economic security strategy oriented toward sustainability, adaptability, responsible innovation, and long-term value creation, including the integration of advanced digital tools and ecosystem partnerships. The findings enrich the theoretical framework of economic security in entrepreneurship and may support strategic management improvements during industrial and technological transformation. It also argues that resilience must include learning, reconfiguration, and trust preservation across the enterprise ecosystem, over time and major crises ahead.
