CHARACTERISTICS OF FACTORS INFLUENCING THE LEVEL OF SMART TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT IN CONSTRUCTION BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

Keywords: SMART technologies, construction business, digitalization, automation, factor analysis, scalability

Abstract

In the context of the digital transformation of the economy, the construction industry increasingly requires a transition to modern management models based on automation, digitalization, and the intellectualization of processes. The growing complexity of construction projects, higher requirements for resource efficiency, safety, and environmental responsibility necessitate the active implementation of SMART technologies as a комплекс of technical, software, and organizational solutions. The implementation of SMART technologies in construction business management is a complex multifactor process, the effectiveness of which is determined by the simultaneous influence of technological, economic, socio-organizational, infrastructural, and environmental-regulatory factors. It is substantiated that the integration of digitalization, automation, and intelligent systems forms the foundation for a qualitative transformation of managerial approaches; however, the actual effectiveness of these innovations depends on the availability of investment resources, the reduction of implementation costs, and the accessibility of technological solutions for a wide range of enterprises. Social aspects, in particular the improvement of occupational safety and the optimization of human resources, contribute to the creation of a favorable environment for digital transformation, while the presence of well-developed infrastructure ensures the technical stability and scalability of solutions. It is proven that environmental and regulatory requirements act not only as regulatory constraints but also as powerful catalysts for technological modernization, guiding the development of the construction business toward sustainable, safe, and responsible management. All these factors are in constant interaction and form a synergistic system in which each element reinforces the others, ensuring the comprehensive and balanced development of SMART technologies in the industry. As a result, a systemic consideration of these factors allows construction enterprises to develop coherent digital strategies, strengthen management system resilience, and secure long-term competitive advantages.
