SOCIAL CAPITAL AS A BASIS FOR THE FORMATION OF AN ENTERPRISE’S LABOUR POTENTIAL
Abstract
The relevance of the study is determined by the transformation of the Ukrainian labour market, the growing role of intangible assets, the spread of flexible forms of employment and digital models of work organization, which pose new requirements for the development of enterprises’ labour potential. Under such conditions, social capital functions not only as a social but also as an economic category capable of ensuring the resilience, adaptability and innovativeness of labour collectives. The purpose of the article is to provide a theoretical justification for the role of social capital in the formation, implementation and reproduction of the labour potential of an enterprise, as well as to identify the mechanisms through which internal interactions, trust, norms and corporate values affect the qualitative characteristics of labour potential. The methodological basis of the research includes methods of systemic and structural-functional analysis, the institutional-economic approach, comparative analysis of scientific sources and concepts, as well as generalisation of previous empirical research results. The findings of the study enabled the specification of the content of social capital at the enterprise level in the context of personnel management, identification of its structural components and substantiation of the role of trust, communication and social cohesion mechanisms in ensuring the synergistic effect of labour resource utilisation. It has been proven that social capital acts as a system-forming element of labour potential, enhancing the efficiency of realising both individual and collective capabilities of employees, reducing transaction costs and strengthening the organisational resilience of enterprises to external challenges. The conclusions emphasise that the development of social capital should be considered a strategic direction for managing the labour potential of Ukrainian enterprises under conditions of digitalisation, migration shifts and the renewal of employment models.
