WORLD ECONOMIC FRAGMENTATION AS A FACTOR IN UKRAINE'S ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

This article characterizes the phenomenon of geoeconomic fragmentation as a multifaceted process of politically directed disintegration of the global economic system and the formation of alternative geopolitical-economic blocs. The study establishes that the escalation of protectionist tendencies, the implementation of sanctions policies, and the deployment of export restriction mechanisms demonstrate a strategic reorientation of nation-states from economic interests toward security and geopolitical priorities. It is substantiated that the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine serves as one of the primary catalysts of these processes, having provoked a systemic reassessment of geopolitical alliances by the international community. The article outlines that objective factors constituting opportunities for Ukraine's integration into emerging architectures of global production and logistics systems include natural reserves of critically important mineral resources, geographical proximity to the European Union, the potential of the agricultural sector, and the development of the defense-industrial complex. Particular attention is devoted to strengthening Ukraine's cooperation with the European Union and advancing multidimensional relationships with African nations. The research concludes that the European vector has retained its priority status, with its strategic significance further reinforced through active political-economic and financial support from European partners. Simultaneously, Ukraine is developing new channels of cooperation and trade partnerships with African states, manifesting itself in joint efforts aimed at stabilizing global food security. The investigation of the world economy's fragmentation process within the Ukrainian context is particularly relevant due to the necessity of formulating state policy designed to enhance the country's potential under transformed conditions of the global economic space. Comprehension of the mechanisms and risks of geoeconomic fragmentation constitutes a methodological foundation for crafting a substantiated export and investment strategy that will account for the distinctive characteristics of the emerging geoeconomic order.
