MANAGEMENT OF THE AUTOMATION PROCESS OF TESTING SOFTWARE PRODUCTS IN THE FIELD OF FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGIES
Abstract
The article considers the problems of managing the process of automating the testing of software products in the field of financial technologies. Software products in this field are complex systems with complex architecture and logic, therefore, testing such products is critically important given the criticality of the consequences of errors in the logic of financial transactions. In flexible approaches to software development, an important stage is regression testing, which must be performed within each iteration due to the risk of disrupting the existing functionality of the software product. Regression testing involves repeated execution of the same test cases, therefore, its automation may be appropriate in order to reduce the amount of time required for its execution, as well as reduce the impact of the human factor on its result. For the successful implementation of test automation, it is important to choose the right approach to managing the automation process. The study used classification, generalization, and comparison methods. The technical and organizational aspects of implementing test automation are outlined, as well as the expected results of this process. A list of metrics necessary to assess the effectiveness of automation implementation is provided. A list of problems that may arise in the automation process is highlighted. The stages of testing automation process management are identified, as well as the key points of these stages. Approaches to allocating resources required for testing automation are considered, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of these approaches. An approach to creating a test automation plan for software products in the field of financial technologies is described. A general conclusion is made that test automation is a promising direction for optimizing the software product development process and a continuous process that involves covering the software product with new automated tests and maintaining existing automated tests in an up-to-date state, therefore, this process should be managed on an ongoing basis in order to ensure its effectiveness.
