DIRECTIONS FOR IMPROVING THE FUNCTIONING OF ORGANIZED COMMODITY MARKETS IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article highlights the functional purpose, role and place of organized commodity markets in increasing the efficiency of the domestic agricultural market entities functioning. Taking into account systemic global transformations, attention is focused on the need to search for and develop further directions for improving domestic organized commodity markets, especially agricultural products. It is noted that organized commodity markets are a key element of a market economy in most countries of the world. At the global level, exchange trading on organized commodity markets performs many important functions to ensure the forecasting of global price conditions and the management of price risks. It is noted that the search and development of organizational and economic measures for the further improvement of domestic organized commodity markets should be based on the following key factors, which we have systematized into 5 groups. Ensuring the effective functioning of domestic organized commodity markets can be achieved with the presence of the necessary market infrastructure elements, which have been evolving for a long time and operating effectively in international organized commodity and financial markets. The current state of reform of the legislative and legal system regulating the activities of domestic commodity exchanges is determined. The current situation regarding the increase in requirements for licensing the activities of domestic commodity exchanges by the state regulator - the National Securities and Stock Market Commission is noted. It is noted that the main goal of reforming the domestic legislative and legal field to form a transparent segment of organized commodity markets was to define a pro-European course for improving state regulation of the activities of professional participants in organized markets. An assessment of the advantages and disadvantages of improving domestic organized commodity markets through the use of SWOT analysis is provided. In conclusion, a general description of the strengths and weaknesses in ensuring the further development of domestic organized commodity markets was provided.
