JUSTIFICATION OF THE SYSTEM OF CRITERIA FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF TRADE ENTERPRISES
Abstract
The article considers issues related to the current problems of sustainable development of society and economy of Ukraine. The approaches to the definition of sustainable development presented in various sources are analyzed, highlighting the emphases of the study, and the actual formulation of the definition is given. Taking into account the specifics of the functioning of the trade sphere, associated with the short duration of the production cycle, the heterogeneity of business entities, the sustainable development of trade enterprises is considered in the work as a purposeful process of achieving economic indicators that ensure the profitability of their activities at all stages of the life cycle, provided that the social functions assigned to trade and environmental protection are fulfilled, which allows in the complex to guarantee economic growth, the population's accessibility to goods and services to improve their standard of living, employment, and thanks to innovative technologies to influence environmental protection and the involvement of consumers in such a process. The features, purpose and specifics of the functioning of the trade sphere are presented with a statistical justification of its quantitative value in the dynamics of foreign economic turnover for the global level of processes; contribution to the gross domestic product of Ukraine and the volume of trade turnover for the macro level and changes in the structure of trade by the number of entities for the micro level. Such dynamics indicate the significant importance of trade entities for ensuring their sustainable development. The principle of building a system of criteria for sustainable development of enterprises in the trade sector is highlighted. It is proposed to combine criteria according to features: by components of sustainable development, by tasks according to levels of the management hierarchy and by categories of trade enterprises. A characteristic of each feature is given. The methodological approach to substantiating the system of criteria for sustainable development of enterprises in the trade sector is improved, where the expected system is formed in 4 stages. The stages of the specified procedure are highlighted: 1) determining the components of sustainable development; 2) identifying the initial conditions for sustainable development; 3) studying the distinctive characteristics of the functioning of the trade sector; 4) forming a system of criteria for sustainable development of trade entities. The need to develop a set of indicators for the selected criteria is established.
