INVESTMENT PRIORITIES FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the main factors influencing the state of the hospitality industry in Ukraine and the development of strategic investment solutions for its sustainable development. The author emphasizes the importance of resuming investment in the development of the hospitality sector, since under martial law there are constant threats to its full functioning. This requires effective crisis management and timely response to the challenges of today. In the article, the authors examine the factors that influence investments in the field of temporary accommodation and catering. The relative change in the volume of investments in the service sector as a whole and in the field of temporary accommodation and catering in Ukraine over the past three years is investigated. The expected changes in investment by type of asset (in particular: machinery and equipment; land, buildings and structures; intangible assets) are studied. The authors review and systematize the priority areas of investment in the development of the hospitality sector in Ukraine. Among them, an important place is given to the formation of an extensive infrastructure of hospitality organizations, the introduction of modern world technologies and practices, an in-depth study of the experience of countries that have survived military conflicts, and the development of unique offers in the hospitality sector. In order to restore the full functioning and development of the hospitality sector, it is important to create an attractive investment climate. To do this, it is necessary to develop effective mechanisms for economic incentives for investment activities of hospitality enterprises; consider the possibility of attracting funds from international organizations for the restoration and development of the hospitality sector; develop algorithms for state investment support for small and medium-sized businesses in the hospitality sector; introduce modern digital technologies; and establish cooperation with territorial communities in terms of studying historical heritage, local traditions, local cuisine and ecotourism. The results of the study can be useful in formulating the main priorities for the development of the hospitality sector in Ukraine under martial law and post-war recovery.
