ASSESSMENT OF AN ENTERPRISE’S ADAPTABILITY DEGREE TO THE UNSTABLE ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS
Abstract
The article is devoted to the current issues of assessing the degree of adaptability of an enterprise to the conditions of an unstable environment. It is shown that enterprise adaptation plays a crucial role in ensuring its stable functioning in an unstable market environment. It is determined that adaptation is a complex mechanism ensured the adaptation of an enterprise to changes in the external environment and internal transformations, and adaptability is considered as a property, ability and characteristic of an enterprise as a complex production and economic system. It is substantiated that a comprehensive approach to assessing the degree of adaptability should include an analysis of external and internal factors that affect the ability of an enterprise to change strategy, increase management efficiency, and ensure long-term sustainability in a competitive environment. It is proposed to assess the degree of adaptability of an enterprise according to the following components: operational, innovative, managerial, financial, social and commercial. The set of key indicators for each of the adaptation areas is identified. It is shown that it is necessary to ensure an optimal balance between the number of indicators.It is proposed to carry out a comprehensive assessment of the degree of adaptability of an enterprise's activities to the external environment using a model that represents a linear combination of vectors from indicators that characterize the selected components of adaptation. Since each level is characterized by a different number of indicators, each vector of indicators for the adaptation components was converted into a discrete value using the distance method.It іs determined that the closer the actual values of the indicator are to the reference values, the higher the degree of adaptability of the enterprise, its readiness to changes in the external environment, and the effectiveness of development management.The proposed approach to analyzing the degree of adaptability allows assessing the effectiveness of the adopted strategy and making the necessary management decisions to ensure the targeted development of the enterprise.
