ANALYSIS OF EXPORT-IMPORT OPERATIONS OF THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY OF UKRAINE: CURRENT STATUS AND DEVELOPMENT TRENDS
Abstract
The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most important components of the healthcare system and the economy of Ukraine as a whole. It plays a strategic role in providing the population with high-quality and affordable medicines, and also has significant potential for the development of domestic production and exports. The analysis of the state of the pharmaceutical market becomes particularly relevant in conditions of martial law, when the industry is forced to adapt to new challenges and transform its activities. The article provides a comprehensive analysis of export-import operations in the pharmaceutical industry of Ukraine in 2019–2024. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of export-import operations, structural changes in the market and factors affecting the stability and competitiveness of the sector. The relevance of the topic is due to the need for a deeper understanding of the mechanisms for adapting the national pharmaceutical industry to global challenges. The focus of the study is on the issues of economic security, strengthening domestic production and strategic development in conditions of uncertainty. The methodological basis is a combination of systemic analysis, economic assessment and expert approaches, which provides a comprehensive vision of the internal capabilities of the industry and its external relationships. The high adaptability of the sector and its ability to maintain stability and develop even in times of crisis have been revealed. The study of structural shifts, consumption patterns and market reactions makes it possible to assess the strategic role of the pharmaceutical sector for the national economy. The practical value of the research lies in the formation of approaches to state policy to support the industry, attract investment and strengthen the positions of Ukrainian pharmaceutical products on the international market. The results obtained confirm the potential of the pharmaceutical industry as one of the key elements of the Ukrainian economy, its ability to innovate, adapt and develop sustainably.
