ASSESSMENT OF THE IMPACT OF INNOVATIVE FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS ON THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The aim of the study is to comprehensively assess the impact of innovative financial instruments on the economic development of Ukraine. Given the current globalization challenges, digital transformation of the financial sector and structural reforms of the national economy, the article analyzes the mechanisms of interaction between innovative financial instruments and traditional sources of financing, assesses their impact on macroeconomic indicators and develops recommendations for improving the state policy in the field of financial innovation. The article finds that innovative financial instruments, in particular blockchain technologies, crowdfunding, venture capital financing, and digital platforms, contribute to the efficient allocation of capital, risk reduction, and increased financial inclusion. An analysis of the dynamics of their implementation in Ukraine has revealed a positive trend towards an increase in the share of innovative financial mechanisms in financing the national economy - from 6.1% in 2020 to 8.9% in 2024. The main obstacles to the active use of innovative financial instruments are regulatory and financial restrictions, low financial literacy, and insufficient development of financial infrastructure. It is established that the greatest benefit from the use of the latest financial technologies is obtained by small and medium-sized enterprises that use alternative sources of investment. The conclusions summarize that the introduction of innovative financial instruments is an important factor in enhancing Ukraine's economic sustainability. In order to ensure their effective integration, it is necessary to improve legal and regulatory frameworks, expand government support for venture capital financing, improve financial literacy of the population, and create a favorable environment for the development of digital financial platforms. This will help to increase investment activity, improve the competitiveness of the economy and its resilience to global financial challenges. In the long run, the effective integration of financial innovations may become an important factor in the modernization of Ukraine's economy and its integration into global financial markets.
