THE CHALLENGES OF EXPORTING AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS FROM UKRAINE IN THE CURRENT CONDITIONS
Abstract
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the export of agricultural products has faced a number of challenges that have had an extremely negative impact on the agricultural sector as a whole. The aim of the study is to analyze the list of problems related to the export of agricultural products and to propose approaches for resolving or partially addressing the existing challenges. The research topic remains relevant throughout the entire period of the Russian-Ukrainian war and requires further examination by the scientific community. Based on the results of the study, the importance of the agricultural sector for Ukraine's food security has been emphasized, and the key problems of agricultural exports under current conditions have been identified. The research highlights several critical issues, including logistics and transportation challenges, certification and compliance with international standards, tariff and non-tariff barriers, as well as geopolitical risks and trade restrictions. Given the dynamic nature of international trade and economic globalization, understanding these issues is essential for ensuring the stable development of Ukraine’s agricultural sector. Additionally, potential solutions to these issues have been proposed. The solutions, in one way or another, should have a comprehensive nature. From a scientific perspective, the situation with Ukraine's exports holds particular academic interest, as in the era of digitalization, research is enriched with data that allows the problem to be analyzed from different perspectives. Foreign researchers also thoroughly study issues related to the agricultural sector, because Ukraine remains a leader in the global agricultural market. The European scientific community actively addresses important issues related to the food security of the European Union. The findings contribute to the academic discourse on international trade and food security while offering practical recommendations for policymakers and industry stakeholders. The research findings may be used for future studies on this topic or related areas. It is necessary to continue conducting scientific research on this topic to uncover most of the issues.
