STRUCTURAL-DYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF THE FUNCTIONING OF AGRICULTURE IN THE REGIONS OF UKRAINE
Abstract
Food security is the basis of the stability of the state and the socio-economic well-being of the population, as well as an important aspect of the national economy. The article examines the state of the agricultural sector of Ukraine, in particular, the issue of food security and its importance for the economic development of the country. It is substantiated that the problem of reducing the level of food security in Ukraine is, in particular, due to the slow development of agriculture against the background of a decrease in the share of agricultural products in GDP and global challenges, such as war and economic challenges. The main indicators of agricultural production are analyzed, in particular, the production volumes of major crops and livestock products, the dynamics of food consumption, and the level of food security. The results of the analysis show that, despite the significant agro-industrial potential of Ukraine, there is a decrease in the volume of agricultural production in war conditions. At the same time, 2023 showed a gradual recovery of the industry, which was caused by international support, state programs, and the development of alternative logistics routes for exporting products. Initiatives such as the "grain corridor" played an important role, which allowed Ukraine to resume exports of grain and other agricultural goods through alternative routes. An important component of food security is also the stability of logistics chains and access to global markets, as Ukraine must expand its presence in international markets to maintain the competitiveness of products. In general, to ensure the sustainability of the agricultural sector in Ukraine, it is necessary to address these problems comprehensively: stimulate investment, support small and medium-sized farms, ensure infrastructure development, and also take into account the needs for modernization of the industry through the introduction of innovative technologies and improved access to financing. All these measures will contribute to strengthening the country's food security and economic stability in the face of modern challenges.
