THEORETICAL AND LEGAL ASPECTS OF THE CONCEPT OF «ELECTRONIC SERVICE» IN UKRAINE

Abstract

The article investigates the terminological essence of the concept of «electronic services» by analyzing regulatory acts of Ukraine and materials from specialized economic literature. The study systematically reviews various definitions of the term found in both scientific and professional practice, emphasizing its multidimensional nature and its growing significance in the modern economy. Special attention is given to the key characteristics of electronic services, their distinctions from traditional services, and their importance in the context of societal digitalization. The research highlights how electronic services, facilitated by digital technologies, differ in their method of provision, reach, and operational mechanisms compared to conventional services. The paper also addresses the legislative and economic factors influencing the development and adoption of electronic services in Ukraine, situating the concept within the broader trends of globalization and digital transformation. Additionally, the study examines the role of electronic services in reshaping business models, public administration, and consumer behavior, underscoring their impact on efficiency, accessibility, and innovation. The integration of electronic services into various industries is analyzed, highlighting their contribution to the digital economy and their potential for further development. The research also explores technological advancements that drive the expansion of electronic services, including automation, artificial intelligence, and blockchain, emphasizing their role in enhancing service delivery. As part of the study, an original authorial interpretation of the concept of «electronic services» is proposed, aiming to incorporate the specific features and advantages of providing such services through digital platforms.
