THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL ECONOMY DEVELOPMENT ON THE ECONOMIC SECURITY OF THE STATE

Abstract

In the information economy, informational factors of economic security acquire particular significance. The aim of this study is to determine the impact of digital economy development on the economic security of the state and to formulate the objectives of economic security in the information sphere. Despite the active development of the digital economy, its impact on the economic security of the state remains ambiguous due to challenges related to cybersecurity, financial risks, digital inequality, and the need to adapt regulatory policies. The absence of effective state control mechanisms and digital transformation strategies may lead to threats to economic stability, increased technological dependence, and the exacerbation of socio-economic disparities. It has been established that the main objectives of economic security in the information sphere include: protecting the economic interests of the state; ensuring that government authorities, enterprises, and citizens have access to accurate, comprehensive, and timely information; and upholding the rights of citizens, organizations, and the state to receive, distribute, and use information. The specific impact of informational threats on economic security manifests at three different levels: state, corporate, and individual. At the state level, the greatest threats to economic security in the information sphere include cyber espionage, manipulation of unique intelligence information, information warfare, information dominance by developed countries, and internal information inequality. At the corporate level, threats include intentional and unintentional damage to information systems and infrastructure, external and internal cyber espionage, uncontrolled employee access to the Internet, and employee incompetence or negligence. At the individual level, threats to economic security include the theft of personal data, cyber espionage using bank cards, online fraud, SMS scams, attacks on systems widely used in daily life, and internet addiction.
