THE ESSENCE AND STATE OF THE CURRENT DEVELOPMENT OF DIGITALIZATION OF THE UKRAINIAN ECONOMY
Abstract
The article is devoted to the current trends in the development of digitalization of the economy. The purpose of the study is to reveal the essence of the digital economy, to identify its main features, as well as its development in Ukraine in the conditions of war. It has been established that the process of digitalization in the world is reaching colossal proportions and this trend will not fade away in the future, since it is necessary to update outdated products, modify them to make them more accessible to the general public. A feature of the process of digital transformation of the Ukrainian economy is that the degree of use of information technologies in different industries is not the same. The highest level of use of information technologies is at domestic enterprises that provide financial and educational services, communication services, and logistics. In these areas of the Ukrainian economy, the level of use of information technology achievements is the same as in foreign competitors. At the same time, in some sectors of the economy, the intensity of automation, robotization, and the use of digital technologies is very low. At the same time, Ukraine, despite the war unleashed by russia, seeks to actively participate in the development of appropriate tools to join the European and global digitalization. Thus, the study found that in 2024 Ukraine ranked fifth in the world in terms of the level of development of digital public services. The article notes the advantages of the Ukrainian mobile application of the Portal "Diya", and also emphasizes the need to train high-class IT specialists now before the end of the war. The study found that in modern conditions, the miltech sector is growing in Ukraine, in particular IT specialists working for the defense industry, and this direction is promising, therefore it needs to be scaled up. The development of the miltech sector will make it possible to obtain military products with a high share of added value, which will enable Ukrainian enterprises to compete in the global arms market and replenish the country's state budget.
