UNCERTAINTY’S ASSESSMENT AS STRENGTHENING TOOL OF THE MARINE LOGISTICS ENTERPRISES FINANCIAL AND ECONOMIC SECURITY’S

Abstract

The paper deals with the analyze in detail theoretical approaches to defining the essence of the concept of "uncertainty" and reveals its meaning in the context of the maritime logistics enterprises’ financial and economic security. In particular, uncertainty is considered as a multidimensional phenomenon that arises under the influence of external and internal factors that complicate the decision-making process and risk management. Financial and economic security of enterprises is defined as a complex concept that includes protection from threats, ensuring stable functioning, adaptation to environmental changes and maintaining competitiveness. It is established that the main sources of uncertainty in maritime logistics are uncertainty from various positions, namely: from the position of the cargo supplier, client, carrier, from the position of the control system, as well as from the point of view of external uncertainty factors. It is noted that in conditions of uncertainty, the process of converting uncertainty into risk is extremely important, since it is the risk that is assessed. Particular attention is paid to the importance of implementing analytical approaches to assessing uncertainty. This involves not only identifying potential risks, but also their quantitative assessment and translation into a form suitable for management. The application of a systematic approach to risk classification, which allows grouping, is proposed. The need to use modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence methods, to predict risks, automate management processes and minimize losses in the event of their implementation is determined. The authors emphasize that the integration of digital tools into management processes will contribute to increasing the flexibility of maritime logistics enterprises and their ability to respond promptly to challenges. The paper also highlights the prospects for further research aimed at developing innovative risk management models that take into account the specifics of the activities of maritime logistics enterprises. In particular, it is proposed to study the impact of digitalization and automation on ensuring financial and economic security.
