THE IMPORTANCE OF WATER TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES IN THE NATIONAL ECONOMY OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The article is devoted to the topical issues of forming an effective management system based on a comprehensive analysis of the state of water transport in Ukraine. The place of the state in the development of water transport is studied according to infrastructure indicators according to the Global Competitiveness Index system. The level of quality (efficiency of service provision) of seaports of Ukraine is analyzed. The low level of quality of service provision of seaports of Ukraine according to the Global Competitiveness Index is determined, which is due to a number of factors and reasons not only of an internal nature, but also of external influence. The dynamics of the number of business entities and the number of people employed in water transport in their total number in Ukraine are considered. According to the results of the analysis, a decrease in the share in the total number of business entities and the number of people employed in water transport is observed. The dynamics of the volume of sales of products of water transport enterprises in the total volume in Ukraine is analyzed. As a result, we can note positive dynamics, which is explained by inflationary processes and devaluation (decrease in the hryvnia exchange rate against other major world currencies), and not by the improvement of the activities of business entities. The structure of the contribution of individual types of transport to the volume of cargo turnover is considered. As a result, an increase in the share of cargo turnover of pipeline transport and a decrease in the share of cargo turnover of sea and river transport is noted. The dynamics and changes in the structure of transportation of individual types of cargo by sea transport are studied. The analysis of dynamics indicates a significant reduction in the volumes of transportation of oil and oil products, coal and coke. As a result of the study, we have established that despite the presence of certain negative trends, enterprises have the potential of internal resources, which indicates the expediency of forming a system of internal control over the activities of water transport enterprises.
