INNOVATION AND INVESTMENT DEVELOPMENT OF THE FRUIT AND BERRY INDUSTRY IN THE REGIONS OF UKRAINE
Abstract
The article examines the innovation and investment development of the fruit and berry industry in Ukraine. It is determined that in the current conditions the problem of increasing gross production and increasing the economic efficiency of fruit and berry products becomes especially relevant. It is presented that the socio-economic analysis of the situation in recent years in the agricultural sector shows that the very low activity of innovative development is directly related to the organizational and economic aspect of innovation, which increases the degradation of the agricultural sector, increases costs and uncompetitiveness socio-economic development of the village. The negative trends in the industries include: low productivity of gardens; reduction of total and fruit-bearing areas of perennial plantations; excess of uprooting areas in comparison with new plantings; insufficient own production of planting material and its extremely weak material base; lack of special agricultural machinery and mechanisms, means of chemical protection of plantations, drip irrigation systems; high prices for equipment, fertilizers and pesticides; inadequate scientific support due to low R&D funding. It is substantiated that the effective functioning of the agro-industrial complex, which corresponds to modern realities, in most developed countries is based on cyclical innovative development. The main direction of such development is the interaction of knowledge-intensive technologies and private production. Introduction and further dissemination of innovation processes are the main components of efficient agro-industrial production and increase of employment of the rural population. It is determined that today the structure of Ukraine's economy is characterized by the presence of a social form of economy, represented by agricultural enterprises of various forms of ownership and management, family-individual households, represented by peasant (farmer) and personal subsidiary farms. It is proved that in the innovative development of horticulture, state regulation is important, which contributes to the implementation of the necessary capital investments.
