SOCIAL AND LABOR POTENTIAL OF THE REGION AND DIGITALIZATION OF WORK: PROSPECTS AND DIRECTIONS OF INTERACTION IN THE CONDITIONS OF INNOVATIVE DEVELOPMENT

Abstract

The article examines the trends in the development of the region's social and labor potential and the digitalization of labor and the connection between them, which, in the authors' opinion, is multidimensional and based on the impact of modern digital technologies on key aspects of the innovative development of the labor resource. The essence of labor digitalization and its main goal are determined. It is substantiated that digitalization transforms traditional methods of work, ways of organizing labor and requirements for employee competencies in modern conditions of change. The main aspects of labor digitalization are determined, among which the following should be distinguished: automation of production processes and workplaces, features of remote work, fundamentally new work formats and forms of employment based on digital platforms, modernization of requirements for the formation of employee competencies and skills. The authors formulate the advantages and challenges of labor digitalization. Problematic aspects of the mutual influence of social and labor potential and labor digitalization are determined: imbalance between demand and supply in the labor market; insufficient level of digital literacy of future employees; infrastructure limitations; social consequences of automation; lack of an effective strategy for the digitalization of labor. It is substantiated that for the formation of the mutual influence of the socio-labor potential of the region and the digitalization of labor, a necessary condition is innovative development, which is possible only under the condition of active cooperation between all stakeholders: authorities, business, public organizations and educational institutions. Attention is focused on the fact that digitalization ensures an increase in labor productivity, but at the same time requires the adaptation of legislation, education and social policy. Promising areas of effective mutual influence of the socio-labor potential of the region and the digitalization of labor in the conditions of innovative development may be: the development of education and training of employees with the necessary competencies, increased investment in infrastructure, which will contribute to expanding access to high-speed Internet, development of a regional digitalization strategy, development of a «smart economy», intellectualization of labor potential, expansion of employment opportunities, improvement of the quality of life of the population, formation of sustainable socio-economic structures. It is emphasized that the digitalization of labor is a key factor in the development of the region's social and labor potential in the context of innovative development.
