PROMISING SKILLS FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF HUMAN CAPITAL IN THE CONTEXT OF LABOR MARKET TRANSFORMATION
Abstract
The article is devoted to the topical issues of identifying promising skills for the development of human capital in the condition of labor market transformation. The author analyzes the trends in labor market transformation over the next 5 years in OECD countries: the ratio of vacancies to unemployment, employment and labor dynamics, wages and productivity. Technological changes, the use of artificial intelligence, and geo-economic trends are fundamentally and irreversibly transforming labor markets. By 2027, 43% of work tasks will be automated, 6 out of 10 employees will have to undergo training by then, and 44% of their core skills may become less in demand in the next five years. Despite some easing of tensions in labor markets, the shortage of skilled labor remains very high. It is determined that modern technologies are projected to be the largest drivers of job growth: big data analytics, climate management technologies, encryption and cybersecurity, etc. The article analyzes the indicators of the difficulty of finding new employees in the labor market in Ukraine in 2022-2024. It is determined that employers consider the lack of skills and talent to be the biggest obstacles to the transformation of the labor market, and investment in training is the most promising strategy in the field of employment. Modern HR strategies and promising skills for developing labor market talent for the next 5 years are identified. The transformation of the labor market and structural changes in industries are having a significant impact on businesses, governments and workers around the world. It is crucial to develop informative forecasts, identify relevant trends, forecast the necessary skills to develop talent to drive growth, and make informed decisions to manage significant job and skills imbalances for both employers and employees. Global macro trends and crises are creating an increasingly complex environment for policymakers, employers and workers to navigate, and uncertainty and volatility remain high. Thus, while pessimistic forecasts about the impact of digital and green transformation on jobs and generative artificial intelligence have dominated, these areas are identified as some of the biggest drivers of future job creation.
