DEFINITION OF THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE EFFICIENCY OF AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES AND THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT OF TERRITORIAL COMMUNITIES IN THE CONTEXT OF GLOBALIZATION
Abstract
This article aims to explore the relationships between the efficiency of agricultural enterprises and the sustainable development of local communities in the context of globalization. The agricultural sector plays a crucial role in the economies of many countries, including Ukraine, affecting economic stability, social development, and environmental balance at the local level. In the era of globalization, agricultural enterprises not only produce food but also serve as key social and environmental actors that shape the sustainable development of local communities. Sustainable development requires the integration of economic, social, and environmental aspects, with the efficiency of agricultural enterprises being a key factor in this process. The efficiency of agricultural enterprises is measured through economic, social, and environmental dimensions. Economic efficiency refers to the ability to generate maximum profit with minimal costs, improve productivity, and use resources effectively. Social efficiency is seen in job creation, support for social infrastructure, and improvement in the quality of life for local residents. Environmental efficiency focuses on sustainable resource use, minimizing environmental impact, and preserving biodiversity. Agricultural enterprises directly influence the sustainable development of local communities by creating jobs, contributing to infrastructure development, and generating tax revenues for local budgets. Their efficiency is crucial for maintaining environmental balance, as agriculture impacts land, water, and biodiversity. Sustainable agricultural practices help conserve natural resources and promote ecological stability in communities. Globalization brings new challenges to agricultural enterprises, including climate change, technological advancements, shifts in international trade, and economic changes. These require rapid adaptation to new conditions through technological innovations, resource-efficient practices, and sustainable farming methods. At the same time, international trade offers new opportunities for agricultural exports, particularly for products that meet environmental and sustainability standards, opening up new markets for eco-friendly products. To align with globalization, agricultural enterprises need strategies that ensure both economic efficiency and social and environmental responsibility. The development of sustainable practices, such as resource-efficient technologies and green agricultural initiatives, is key to fostering the sustainable development of local communities. Additionally, government policies must support the agricultural sector through financial incentives for innovation, environmental initiatives, and the promotion of local sustainable development efforts. In conclusion, the efficiency of agricultural enterprises is closely linked to the sustainable development of local communities. Agricultural businesses that operate sustainably can improve economic, social, and environmental conditions, contributing to community development and ensuring ecological balance in a globalized world.
