THE IMPACT OF GLOBALIZATION PROCESSES ON THE FORMATION OF FOOD SECURITY IN UKRAINE
Abstract
The article considers the impact of globalization processes on the formation of food security in Ukraine, in particular in the context of modern challenges, such as war, economic crises and climate change. The role of the agricultural sector in ensuring the country's food security, its opportunities and risks associated with the growing dependence on foreign markets are analyzed. The role of the agro-industrial complex as a key element influencing the economic, social and environmental aspects of the country is highlighted. In particular, through the export of grains and oilseeds. In the context of the military conflict in Ukraine, the article focuses on the challenges posed by the blockade of ports and a decrease in logistical efficiency, which significantly threatens the food security not only of Ukraine, but also of countries that depend on Ukrainian exports. The negative consequences of globalization, such as dependence on foreign markets, monopolization of the agricultural sector and environmental challenges, are considered. The need to develop strategies to strengthen food security, which include diversification of production, support for local producers, the introduction of modern technologies and the development of environmental practices, is emphasized. The article emphasizes that sustainable development and integration into world markets should be based on the principles of sustainability, which will allow Ukraine to ensure food security and reduce global risks of hunger. The place of Ukraine in the global index of food security is studied. The dynamics of changes in the index of food security of Ukraine and the state of food provision of the population of Ukraine are considered. Not only positive, but also negative aspects of this process are considered, emphasizing the risks associated with dependence on world food prices.
