CONCEPTUAL FOUNDATIONS OF DEVELOPING A MODERN MODEL OF MOTIVATION IN HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
The article examines the fundamental conceptual principles underlying the development of a modern motivation model for staff in higher education institutions. The author analyzes various theoretical approaches to constructing a motivation system for university personnel, considering their needs, interests, and goals, as well as the impact of the organizational environment on motivational processes. Special attention is given to the specificity of motivating academic staff, who have unique needs for development and recognition. The paper highlights the importance of integrating individual faculty needs with the institution’s overarching goals, which enhances their engagement and productivity. It further discusses the evaluation of the effectiveness of motivation programs and rewards that can be employed to stimulate professional growth among educators. The conclusions of the article emphasize the necessity for a comprehensive approach to staff motivation that addresses contemporary challenges and trends in education. An effective motivation system should combine external incentives and recognition with the development of the intrinsic motivation of university staff. Only with such a comprehensive approach can high engagement and productivity of higher education institution personnel be ensured. Regular feedback, individualized approaches to rewards, and transparency in the evaluation system will help create a favorable environment for the development of faculty members. It is substantiated that support from the administration and an appropriate organizational culture are critically important for the motivation of university personnel. This approach is crucial for fostering a supportive environment that not only meets the personal aspirations of academic staff but also aligns with institutional objectives, thereby contributing to the overall advancement of higher education. The study provides valuable insights into designing effective motivational strategies that can be adapted to the evolving educational landscape, ensuring that faculty members remain motivated, engaged, and committed to their professional development and institutional missions.
