TECHNOLOGIES AND INNOVATIONS IN PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION: CURRENT TRENDS, IMPACT ON THE QUALITY OF PUBLIC SERVICES

Abstract

This article investigates the integration of modern technologies and innovations into public administration, focusing particularly on their impact on the quality of public services. In the context of increasing global digitalization and the rapid development of new technologies, the adaptation of public administration systems has become a critical issue. Traditional methods of governance, which often rely on standardized procedures and extensive documentation, are increasingly seen as inadequate in meeting the demands of contemporary society. Citizens today expect efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness from their governments, which can be greatly enhanced through the implementation of cutting-edge technologies. The article identifies and examines key technologies and their role in improving public sector efficiency. These technologies offer significant potential to streamline administrative processes, reduce bureaucratic delays, and enhance the overall transparency of government operations. However, the integration of these technologies is not without challenges. Furthermore, the article delves into the analysis of Ukraine’s performance in global indices such as the E-Government Development Index (EGDI) and the Public Services Index. These indices are essential for understanding the current state and progress of digital governance in Ukraine. The findings indicate that while Ukraine has made considerable strides in digitalizing its public administration, significant challenges remain, particularly in areas such as cybersecurity and the inclusion of vulnerable populations. The analysis of these indices underscores the importance of continued investment in digital infrastructure and the need for a comprehensive strategy that incorporates both technological advancements and the socio-economic realities of the population. Methodologically, the research draws upon a wide range of sources, including academic literature, empirical data, and case studies, to provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of technology integration in public administration. The article offers practical recommendations, emphasizing the need for a nuanced approach that takes into account the specific national and local contexts. The article also stresses the importance of cybersecurity measures, data privacy, and the development of digital skills among public servants to ensure the successful implementation of technological innovations.
