MPROVING THE MANAGEMENT OF INTERNATIONAL GRAIN DELIVERY PROCESSES BY WATER TRANSPORT ENTERPRISES

Abstract

The article examines the current issues of improving the processes of international export grain cargoes delivery by sea transport management in the context of global challenges in the logistics sphere caused by the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The purpose of the study was to justify the feasibility of implementing measures to organize the operation of foreign shipping lines when water transport enterprises provide services to participants in foreign economic activity on the export market of grain products of Ukrainian farmers. The following research methods were used: analysis and synthesis (regarding the definition of the list of complex services provided by water transport enterprises in the organization of charter and liner shipping); statistical and economic (when determining the cost of international delivery services); comparison (when assessing the presence of competitive advantages in the provision of international grain cargo logistics services through the organization of foreign shipping lines); decomposition (when determining problematic issues regarding the organization of services for the delivery of agricultural products to the international market). In order to form measures aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the services of the Ukrainian shipping company PJSC "Ukrainian Danube Shipping" for the transportation of grains, a comparative assessment of the cost indicators of schemes for the international delivery of grain cargoes with the involvement of foreign ship owners and the national carrier was made. In order to attract export grain cargo flows, the shipping company "Ukrainian Danube Shipping" was offered to organize foreign shipping lines, which will be served by the company as a liner transportation operator. A description of the organizational principles of the foreign shipping lines operation in accordance to national legal norms is provided. The practical value of the article lies in the fact that the implementation of the obtained results will allow the national carrier to organize the rhythmic transportation of grains according to the schedule, to store grain cargoes at its own terminal in the city of Kilia, to increase the productivity of the fleet and to provide the entire range of services related to the international delivery of grain products of Ukrainian exporters.
