MANAGEMENT OF LOGISTICS PROCESSES IN THE TRANSPORTATION SECTOR
Abstract
This article discusses the main aspects of managing logistics processes in the transport sector, which are key to the efficient functioning of the modern economy. The author analyzes the structure and functions of logistics systems, paying special attention to the integration of information technology to increase productivity and reduce costs. The article explores methods of transportation optimization, warehouse inventory management, as well as strategic planning and coordination of transport. Particular attention is paid to the challenges and opportunities arising in the context of globalization and digitalization, including the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on logistics supply chains. The book discusses in detail the aspects of information technology integration, such as the use of transport management systems (TMS), warehouse management systems (WMS), as well as automation and digitalization of logistics operations. The article analyzes the role of big data, artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) in improving the efficiency of logistics processes. Based on the analysis, practical recommendations are offered to improve the management of logistics processes aimed at increasing the competitiveness of enterprises in the transport sector. The recommendations include the introduction of advanced technologies, optimization of supply chains, development of flexibility and adaptability of logistics systems, as well as strategic planning with due regard to current challenges and opportunities. In addition, the author highlights the issues of environmental sustainability and social responsibility in logistics, emphasizing the importance of transition to environmentally friendly modes of transportation and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The article also analyzes the potential of using renewable energy sources in the transportation sector and their impact on logistics processes. The article is intended for logistics and transport professionals, business executives, researchers and students interested in current trends and innovations in transport logistics. It also contains specific examples of successful projects to introduce new technologies in transport logistics, which can serve as a guide for other companies.
