Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has had many negative consequences for the global economy and people around the world. Covid-19 poses many threats to the sustainability of agriculture, which is very sensitive due to food security needs. First of all, it is necessary to analyze and understand the immediate consequences of the current pandemic for the agricultural and food systems in order to develop the necessary actions. The risks, vulnerabilities, resilience and systemic changes of agricultural systems need to be better understood to adapt to the Covid-19 pandemic. The main contribution to this work is the systematization and grouping of major measures to increase the resilience of agricultural systems against the Covid-19 pandemic based on the latest research published in 2020. Recommendations for future research based on a systematic review of the literature are also provided. Quarantine and other restrictions have been imposed to combat the pandemic, and these measures are expected to last for weeks and months. Vaccination can provide some relief, but many risks are still apparent and the impact on all sectors of the economy is devastating. Covid-19 poses many threats to the sustainability of agriculture, which is very sensitive due to food security needs. The Covid-19 pandemic also has many secondary negative effects on the sustainability of agricultural systems around the world. Huge decline in demand for catering and commercial catering services, labor restrictions, processing and production capacity of food and other agricultural products, which affect the reduction of production by farmers. The effects of the global Covid-19 pandemic on agriculture worldwide require immediate and long-term action. First of all, it is necessary to analyze and understand the immediate consequences of the current pandemic for the agricultural and food systems to develop the necessary actions, so the risks, vulnerabilities, resilience and systemic shifts of agricultural systems to adapt to the current situation need better understanding.
