DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF BUSINESS PROCESSES AT UKRAINIAN ENTERPRISES
Abstract
This article delves into the digital transformation sweeping through Ukrainian enterprises, shedding light on the prevalent use of Russian software and its ramifications. Amidst the Russo-Ukrainian conflict, concerns over economic dependencies and security risks loom large, urging businesses to reconsider their reliance on Russian software. Advocating for a strategic transition, the document advocates for the adoption of domestic or foreign alternatives, with a particular emphasis on the potential of cloud technologies to reshape the software landscape. The discourse delves into the challenges posed by dependence on Russian software, notably 1C, which commands usage in approximately 70% of Ukrainian companies. However, amidst economic strains exacerbated by the conflict, coupled with apprehensions about supporting an adversarial entity, skepticism surrounding this reliance has intensified. Yet, the advent of high-speed internet and cloud services has catalyzed a paradigm shift, empowering enterprises to explore innovative solutions beyond traditional software ownership models. Exploring a spectrum of software options tailored for diverse enterprises and industries, the document navigates the integration of multifaceted services through Application Programming Interfaces (APIs). Through meticulous research, it seeks to gauge the extent of Russian software usage in Ukraine while identifying opportunities to supplant it with indigenous alternatives. Moreover, it delves into the potential repercussions of continued dependence on Russian software, with a keen focus on data security imperatives. The narrative extends to the digitalization journey of Ukrainian enterprises, elucidating the transformative impact of automated business processes. Central to this narrative is the pivotal role played by Ukrainian software developers in providing viable alternatives to Russian counterparts. Despite the allure of Western solutions like SAP, constrained by customization limitations, Ukrainian developers have stepped in to fill critical market gaps. Tailored solutions catering to the unique needs of cafes and restaurants stand as testament to this burgeoning trend, streamlining operations encompassing finance management, sales, and personnel oversight. In essence, this document serves as a comprehensive exploration of the digital transformation landscape in Ukraine. It underscores the imperative for a strategic departure from Russian software, driven by both economic imperatives and security considerations. Through a nuanced analysis, it charts a course towards embracing Ukrainian software alternatives, heralding a new era of technological sovereignty and resilience for Ukrainian enterprises.
