Abstract

The article is devoted to the theories and business experience of management gurus. It is established that the modern phase of development of management science is characterized by a qualitative transition from local areas of research to the construction of concepts as the basis of the aggregate theory of management. It is determined that the works of management gurus reflect the social process during which some new ideas in the field of management were put forward, and often, though not always, they were applied by the creators themselves. The main scientific ideas of the most famous modern concepts of management are analysed. The areas of their application for solving specific management problems are shown. P. Drucker shifts attention from scientific management to the approach in which management is reduced to a sequence of solutions to common problems and in which goals are more important than functions. One of the most famous management gurus is T. Peters, for he offers managers and companies concrete ways to move toward future success. M. Porter's work has provided companies with effective methods for analysing competition and developing strategies in both domestic and international markets. It was found that utilizing and translating lessons learned into projects and management decisions becomes an important component of success of modern managers and helps them to effectively solve problems and achieve their goals in their activities. The importance of practical application of management theories in real conditions is determined. Successful management requires not only theoretical knowledge, but also the ability to effectively apply it in practice in different situations. Strategies and methods of management that were successful in the past may become ineffective in modern conditions, as the market environment, technologies and consumer needs are constantly changing. Therefore, managers need to constantly analyses the market situation, respond to technological changes and take into account the needs of their employees and customers. It is emphasized that adaptation of management approaches to the constantly changing conditions allows companies to remain competitive and successfully implement innovations, which is a key factor for achieving success in modern business.
