THEORETICAL AND METHODOLOGICAL PRINCIPLES OF STAFF MOTIVATION IN THE ORGANIZATION MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Abstract
The article examines motivation is a driving force behind human behavior and one of the most crucial factors for enhancing the performance of individual employees and the overall development of a company. On the other hand, motivation is a conscious and purposeful process of influencing people's behavior by creating means and opportunities for realizing their values and expectations to achieve motivational goals. One of the most important characteristics of human capital is work motivation, the management of this indicator plays an important role in the management of human resources. This is due to the fact that it is generally accepted that there is a direct relationship between the employee's motivation and the efficiency of his work. In Ukraine, the motivation of work as an economic, not an ideological category emerged relatively recently. Currently, among scientists there is no unity in the understanding of the term «motivation». Different definitions are given in educational and scientific literature. The motivation of a specific individual can vary over time and space, and there is no universally applicable «recipe for effective motivation». Motivation directs efforts toward the attainment of a specific goal, not other objectives. Highly motivated individuals also possess a greater ability to focus on a subject or task. Motivation is the key to increasing the efficiency of the work of employees and the company as a whole, and the main task of the HR manager or the head of the company is to provide employees with opportunities to realize all competencies related to their education, skills and training. Motivated employees have a desire for self-affirmation and self-realization, are motivated to develop their own work potential and increase their own efficiency. A significant aspect of motivated behavior is a sufficiently high level of motivation. High motivation corresponds to a high level of energy in behavior, while low motivation corresponds to low energy or activity levels. People with low motivation towards work typically avoid working too much, whereas highly motivated individuals are driven and act despite fatigue, sometimes even showing apparent signs of physical exhaustion.
