CONCEPTUAL APPROACHES TO THE DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODERN ECONOMIC SYSTEMS
Abstract
Modern economic system is undergoing a transformation, the dominant feature of which is the increasing role of knowledge and technology, information and digitization of socio-economic life. The transition to a digital economy model is not just a technological revolution, but a change in the very concept of economic development; it involves profound changes in the majority of traditional sectors and the emergence of new areas of activity; it entails changes in production, business and commercial activities. These issues require further in-depth study. The aim of this article is to justify conceptual approaches to the digital transformation of economic systems and to develop elements of a digital economy. It is determined that there are several approaches to justifying the concept of «digital economy»: as the development of network technologies; as a modern form of business process formation in the market for goods and services; as a combination of digital skills, digital infrastructure, and digital goods and services. It is argued that the digital economy is a stage in the development of a socio-economic system based on innovation and information and communication technologies (ICT), electronic infrastructure. Based on a synthesis of approaches to defining the «digital economy», it is concluded that the substantive basis of this concept is ensured by a systemic combination of categories such as production and consumption of final consumer goods; digitized business processes (advertising, trade, service, sales, logistics infrastructure, etc.); production, consumption, and use of digital goods and services; and digital skills of consumers. It is determined that the development of a digital economy in society will take place with the involvement of human capital that develops artificial intelligence technologies, which in turn will increase labor productivity and contribute to creating a reliable foundation for the functioning of the digital economy.
