LOGISTICS SUPPORT FOR INTERNATIONAL TRADE: NECESSITY AND STATE IN MODERN CONDITIONS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis and development of new logistics models for international trade in the context of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The study is a response to the interruption of transport links, blocking of key trade routes and ports, increased bureaucratic tasks, as well as other challenges that have arisen directly or indirectly due to Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. The purpose of the study is to develop plans for the rapid adaptation of logistics systems to changing military and political conditions, as well as to optimize export flows through alternative routes and vehicles. The research methods include statistical analysis, modeling, in-depth interviews with experts in the field of logistics and international trade, as well as case studies of specific situations. The study identified the key problems in the logistics of international trade that arose as a result of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The ongoing Russian-Ukrainian conflict has upended international logistics, necessitating urgent reevaluation of current strategies. With seaports and airspace becoming potential hotspots, the industry must pivot quickly to maintain operational efficiency. The first step involves exploring alternative routes and transportation means. Dry ports and container logistics can serve as vital backups to congested or unsafe maritime ports. These alternatives not only alleviate pressure on primary routes but also minimize reliance on conflict-affected areas. Secondly, the ability to adapt logistics systems to rapidly changing military and political landscapes has never been more crucial. Flexibility is key, but even more essential is having emergency action plans that allow for immediate reconfiguration in response to unexpected events. Addressing these challenges comprehensively is vital for resilience. Developing new models that take into account both current and future uncertainties can pave the way for a more robust international logistics network, even in the throes of conflict.The practical significance of the study lies in the fact that its results can be used to formulate state policy in the field of international trade, as well as to adapt business models of export-oriented companies.
