TRENDS IN THE FIELD OF PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT OF COMPANIES IN A TIME OF TRANSFORMATION

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic, and now the Russian-Ukrainian war, have posed serious challenges to Ukrainian business - how to keep staff, develop production and not lose profits. Complex processes occurring today in the economic, political and social spheres require changes in approaches to personnel management. The main task of managers is to determine directions and search for innovative methods of personnel management that will create prerequisites for the further development of enterprises, increasing the share of profit due to the improvement of the efficiency of the use of human capital. In Ukraine, there are no ready-made practical recommendations for personnel management in companies in conditions of war and transformation. Most of the recommendations are outdated, theoretical in nature, and do not take into account the problems of modern realities – migration processes, political and economic instability. Company leaders are faced with a large number of global challenges that require innovative personnel management methods and new approaches. The HR function becomes an important tool for business development in an environment of instability, as it combines a wide range of functions necessary for the survival and successful operation of a business. Among the modern problems of companies in the field of personnel management, the following stand out: outflow of personnel of working age (migration due to hostilities); internal migration – problems with different corporate cultures, interregional differences between employees; increase in the number of vacancies and increase in competition for employees; lack of qualified personnel; employee dissatisfaction with the low level of wages (in connection with cost optimization by the business); emotional state of employees, low productivity; search for optimal methods of motivation and ways to retain employees in the company in conditions of instability. We expect the following future trends: expanding the powers of HR specialists. The role of HR will become key in the development of company strategies. HR functions will become more focused on ensuring business development; automation and increased use of artificial intelligence in HR processes. new professions will appear, and at that time, some current ones will become irrelevant. The most relevant skills that need to be developed: creative and analytical thinking, technological literacy; development and spread of remote and hybrid work; increasing the importance of mental health in the work environment (work-life balance, stress, burnout); focus on the development of personnel skills – investments in the development of employees to improve work efficiency and retain talent in the company; leasing and outstaffing of some categories of personnel. Flexibility and innovation in the field of personnel management will allow solving the following tasks: increase the level of adaptability of personnel to changes; development of employees' potential is a key element for achieving business goals; proper motivation and remuneration of employees, which will stimulate employees to achieve high results; leadership that can rally and unite the team.
