ASSESSMENT OF THE STATE AND DEVELOPMENT OF COLLECTIVE ACCOMMODATION IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC (CR)

Abstract

The article discusses various aspects of the development of hotel industry enterprises in the Czech Republic. The Czech Republic is one of the most original and attractive for tourists European Union countries with a rich history, many interesting cultural monuments and castles, which contributes to the increase of tourist flow to the country, intensive development of both the tourism sector and the hotel industry. For the reception of tourists, the Czech Republic has an appropriate base of collective funds and similar enterprises. The collective accommodation enterprises of the Czech Republic include establishments for the reception of tourists of various types and categories. Collective means of accommodation are one of the sources of information on tourist flows, the main indicators of which are the number of people accommodated, including foreigners, the number of nights spent by guests in these establishments, and the average length of stay in them. The situation in the hotel sector has worsened due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hotel occupancy has fallen. Occupancy rates in all types of accommodation decreased by thousands of people. In the Czech Republic, visitors are located precisely in hotels and similar means of accommodation. Such a component of collective means of accommodation in the Czech Republic as sanatorium-resort SPA hotels deserves special attention. The main resorts in the Czech Republic include Karlovy Vary, Marianske Lazne, Frantiskovy Lazne, Teplice, Jachymov, Podjebrady, Konstantinovy Lazne, etc. The global pandemic has reduced the ability to travel. The number of guests of the Czech Republic who used the services of the country's collective means of accommodation decreased. This led to a reduction in employment at mass accommodation enterprises and the contribution of KZR to the gross added value created in the tourism sector and the gross domestic product of the country as a whole. The growth of the tourist flow will take place very slowly, the return of its volumes to the level before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic should be waited for in a few years, although positive changes can be observed as early as 2022. Further development of mass accommodation enterprises is impossible without modern equipment and the latest technologies, which play or not the main role in the highly competitive struggle of collective means of accommodation for each client. Striving to offer customers an exclusive service, many mass accommodation companies order the development of special work systems. A new trend in the development of the accommodation sector should be the construction of rather unusual and extravagant mass accommodation enterprises.
