INVESTMENT ATTRACTIVENESS OF UKRAINE: ASSESSMENT AND PROSPECTIVE DIRECTIONS OF ACTIVATION
Abstract
The article is devoted to the topical issue of finding ways to increase Ukraine's investment attractiveness in conditions of instability and high risk. The purpose of the study was to assess the domestic investment attractiveness for foreign investors and to identify promising directions for increasing the level of reliability of Ukraine as a foreign economic partner. To achieve the goal, methods of analysis and synthesis, statistical and comparative approaches, and the SWOT method were used. In the course of the study, regulatory and legal aspects of investment activity were considered, an analytical assessment of the level of investment attractiveness of Ukraine was carried out, and the main factors that negatively affect the investment attractiveness of the state were highlighted. A SWOT analysis of the investment attractiveness of Ukraine for foreign investors was conducted, the results of which identified the advantages and disadvantages of the investment climate, the main problem areas in which efforts should be directed as a priority, in particular, the fight against the tinization of business and corruption, and the implementation of reforms in the economic and administrative systems. The specifics of the organization of measures to increase the investment attractiveness of Ukraine were identified and the industries with the greatest investment potential were identified – industries with high added value and competitive products according to international requirements. Based on the results of the research, it was concluded that currently there are not enough internal financial sources for the growth of the economy of Ukraine, and the fact that our state has not created the proper conditions for investment activities and the security of their investments has become the main obstacle for direct foreign investments. It is proposed to consider increasing the capabilities of state institutions and strengthening the rule of law, expanding the domestic market, and improving the functioning of the banking system as the main directions for the activation of domestic investment activity. It is noted that only information openness, reliability and completeness of financial reporting of business entities will help to convince investors to target financial flows to cover the needs of the Ukrainian economy.
