ORGANIZATIONAL ISSUES WITH URBAN PASSENGER TRANSPORTATION

Abstract

The implementation of reforms in Ukraine in recent years has affected all spheres of life in our country. The reform of the transport complex of Ukraine involves the creation of an effective, integrated into the global transport network of this complex, and ensuring its safe functioning, Ukraine achieving the status of a regional transport hub, meeting the needs of the population in transportation and improving business conditions to ensure the competitiveness and efficiency of the national economy. The transport sector is one of the basic sectors of the economy of Ukraine. Transport infrastructure includes an extensive railway network, a developed network of highways, sea and river ports (terminals), airports and a wide network of air connections, cargo and customs terminals. The future of the Ukrainian state and the well-being of its citizens depend on the efficiency and development of this economy. The problems of organizing urban passenger transportation are relevant in many countries of the world. At the same time, the experience of developed countries shows that the use of different models of urban public transport management ensures the efficient operation of public transport. The article describes the types of passenger transportation, focusing on urban passenger transportation in Ukraine. The main features of urban passenger transport are considered, in particular, the organization of public bus transport and electric transport. The problems of the organization of urban passenger transportation in Ukraine were investigated and the peculiarities of the functioning of the domestic passenger transportation market were identified. Statistics of passenger transportation in Ukraine for 2017–2021 were analyzed. It was determined that road transport is the most common mode of passenger transit due to extensive infrastructure and the greatest mobility among all types of local passenger transport. The main problems of urban bus transport and electric transport transport in Ukraine have been studied. The main directions of solving the problems of the organization of urban passenger transport, which will contribute to the efficient operation of public transport in Ukraine, are considered.
