EVOLUTION OF SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES TO THE ESSENCE OF THE CATEGORY OF ENERGY SECURITY

Abstract

The article is devoted to the generalization and systematization of scientific approaches to the evolution of the «energy security» category. It was established that modern energy development and systemic transformation of the energy sector of Ukraine’s national economy were accompanied by evolutionary changes in the methodology of energy security research and its essence. It was determined that the peculiarities of the country’s energy security research determine the state of the national economy, the country’s existing energy potential, and the state, and development of the energy system. Globalization processes and the inclusion of each country in them strengthen the specificity of the formation and manifestation of energy security. Four main stages and approaches regarding the methodological apparatus formation in the field of energy security and evolution of the essence of the economic security category were distinguished: object approach (according to the object and subject of research; subject approach (according to the subject at the level of which the sources of occurrence were investigated energy security, mechanisms and tools for its provision); informational and analytical approach (for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating the level of energy security); systemic approach (for the purpose of ensuring sustainable energy development and energy transition of the national economy). Research on the evolution of the economic security category makes it possible to define it as a philosophical category characterized by the systematicity of formation and manifestation and at the same time acting as a property of economic, national, ecological, technical security, political security. It was substantiated that further research in this area requires the formation of a new interdisciplinary methodological approach to understanding energy security, which requires the unification of theoretical concepts, methodological approaches and knowledge in these areas. It was established that in modern conditions the context of research is changing, where energy security is an important object of management, has its own boundaries, components, regulatory mechanisms, the logic of making and applying management decisions both in the field of energy security and in general at all levels of economic systems (local, local, regional, national, interstate, global).
