CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS OF CHANGING SUPPLY CHAINS TO MINIMIZE LOSSES DURING WAR

Abstract

The article is devoted to the problems and prospects of changing supply chains in order to minimize losses during the war. The trend and direction of changes in the activity of the logistics industry of Ukraine during the martial law are analyzed. Also described the activities of Ukrainian freight forwarders, logisticians and the description of their important decisions that changed the general situation in some areas of the supply chain, which had a positive effect on the activities of a large number of enterprisesAnalyzing the second round table in the project on "Restoration of supply chains in the conditions of the war and post-war situation in Ukraine", which was initiated and completed by the TradeMasterGroup company with the support of the USAID Program, as well as carrying out a detailed study of the state of the EBA (European Business Association) information resource, the list problems was identified and they can be divided into two parts: 1) problems that the state and its partners can solve through collaboration; 2) problems that each enterprise can solve internally. Unfortunately, the sore point for the state is our railway infrastructure (ports are not taken into account, because their work directly depends on the actions of the aggressor), because it can transport only a certain percentage of all necessary volumes of goods from Ukraine to the EU. Accordingly, to increase the capacity of border crossings to meet the needs of the economy, systemic work is required, which includes radical changes. As for problems at enterprises, flexible inventory management, automation of the logistics management system, changes in company policy, etc. are sensitive topics. The prospects for the development of the logistics industry in the post-war state are determined. It has been established that the minimization of losses during the war is possible only thanks to the collaboration of the state and business. Suggestions are made for improving the efficiency of logistics in the public sector, recommendations for conducting business in wartime to minimize losses and risks are provided.
