COMPETITIVE CONCEPT OF TRADE AND ECONOMIC RELATIONS AND COOPERATION BETWEEN UKRAINE AND THE COUNTRIES OF THE MIDDLE EAST
Abstract
The article analyzes the peculiarities of trade and economic relations and cooperation with the countries of the Middle East. Middle East countries play an important role in the global economy. Their location makes their strategic significance for the trajectory of trade and economic relations development and cooperation in the context of the global economic area. Ukraine has strengthened its position as the guarantor of world food security by joining the UN World Food Security Committee. Thanks to its strong food exports, Ukraine is the guarantor of food security in many countries. On the basis of the research, it is determined that the neighboring region is one of the most important trading partners of Ukraine: The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The changes in the indicators of foreign trade in goods and services between Ukraine and the countries of the Middle East are analyzed. A general SWOT analysis of trade and economic relations and cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the Middle East was conducted. The characteristic features of trade and economic relations and cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the Middle East are defined. The factors of trade and economic relations and cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the Middle East are outlined, which include the following: Political basis of integration processes without stable economic substantiation; contradictions between national and global economic interests; low degree of mutual trust and inconsistency of political interests; inadequate regulatory mechanisms of the level of development of world economic relations, insufficient maturity of organizational and economic mechanisms of interaction of national economies. The perspective directions of development of trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and the countries of the Middle East are grounded. The goals, tasks and priorities of further development are: іmprovement of trade policy; intensification of scientific and technical exchange; improvement of legal support of investment processes, which will stimulate inflow of foreign investments; effective interaction of legislative, executive and business bodies; implementation of state and international educational programs; intensification of international movement of highly qualified resources.
