THE ROLE OF ECONOMIC SECURITY IN STRENGTHENING THE POWER OF THE NATIONAL STATE
Abstract
National economic priorities such as natural resources, energy, supply of raw materials and security have always acted in the economic and political context as key factors in the sustainability of military potential, power or political hegemony in international relations. Along with a globalizing world, it is essential for countries to have sustainable and balanced economic growth and a secure economy as a key determinant of the nation state and an element of power. Today, issues such as dynamism, protecting the economy from internal and external threats, determining the credibility of the economy by identifying national and international political and economic risks are a vital requirement for the survival of the nation state. In the face of neoliberalism, it is necessary to define security initiatives and strategies to protect national economic interests, the sovereignty of the nation state. In this context, for a new perspective in international relations, it would be advisable to analyze the elements, structure and effects of economic security, which is an area of interdisciplinary interaction between the terminology of economics and security. Economic opportunities and their components, which are key elements of public administration, have attracted the attention of researchers since the emergence of the concept of the state. Economic wealth and the need to preserve it have been the cause of many wars. The history of world economic development and the political dominance of states develop in parallel, concern for the future well-being of the economy and citizens has historically always been at the center of conflict zones, albeit in the background. It should not be forgotten that the need for secure access to and use of natural resources, vital for the future of peoples, has been demonstrated in many events in world history as the legitimacy of resorting to any means of their conservation. When creating a dynamic and pragmatic concept of economic security at the national level, it is necessary to identify security vulnerabilities through the structural problems of the economy.
