POSITION OF ENTERPRISES FROM THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR OF UKRAINE IN THE CONDITIONS OF WAR: FINANCIAL AND INVESTMENT ASPECTS
Abstract
The article argues the relevance of searching for tools to promote financial recovery and effective operation of enterprises in the agricultural sector of Ukraine during times of war and post-war, particularly through the activation of investment processes. The aim of the article is to analyze the state of enterprises in the agricultural sector of Ukraine in the context of war and to outline investment prerequisites for their recovery and development in the post-war period. To achieve the set goal, general scientific and specialized research methods are used in the work, namely: induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis, systematization, comparison, tabular-graphic methods, trend extrapolation method, and others. The state of the agricultural sector of Ukraine in the pre-war period is analyzed. The dynamics of changes in income from sales, cost of goods sold, and net profit of agricultural, forestry, and fishing enterprises after 2014 are characterized, as well as the factors that influenced them. Basic performance indicators of enterprises in the agricultural sector (profitability level, agricultural product index, total production cost index, agricultural product price index, capital investment index, etc.) before the war are reflected and their trends are outlined. The problems in the activities of enterprises in the agricultural sector caused by Russian military aggression are studied, and the directions for supporting domestic farmers at the national and international levels are analyzed. The practical value of the article lies in studying the investment practice regarding capital investments in the agricultural sector since 2014 and justifying the prerequisites for boosting investment activity of potential investors for the purpose of post-war recovery and development. Among the main factors identified are the implementation of asset tokenization tools to increase their liquidity and the development of the virtual asset market, the adoption of the concept of zero-waste production and the development of a circular economy, the support of the country’s image and business reputation on the international stage. The article outlines the tools of state support for domestic agrarians, particularly through the resolution of the problem of blocking the registration of tax invoices in the Unified Register of Tax Invoices. The prospects for further scientific research in identifying potential reserves for the recovery of enterprises in the agricultural sector in the post-war period are defined.
