INVESTMENT TRENDS IN UKRAINE
Abstract
Economic development is impossible without investment. The efficiency of investment activity depends on the investors decisions and on the interest of the state in building an effective investment policy, on the formation of investment attractiveness of the country. The purpose of the article is to substantiate the strategic guidelines of state and investors investment policy. To study the vision of the directions of solving investment policy problems, a content analysis of researchers' scientific works is conducted, a quantitative analysis of investment structure by investing countries, dynamics of investment volumes by types of economic activity are carried out to substantiate relevant strategic investment guidelines.The article reveals the main trends of investing in Ukraine. The authors analyze the amount of foreign direct investment in Ukraine and foreign direct investment from Ukraine during 2016-2020. The list of major countries-investors in Ukraine in 2020 is given. Prerequisites for stable economic development of the country and its regions are highlighted. The article examines the factors of investment attractiveness of Ukraine. The capital investments of industrial enterprises in 2015-2020 are considered. The most attractive industries for owners of industrial enterprises and the state in the context of capital investments by types of industrial activity during 2015-2010 are analyzed. Also the most and the least attractive industries for investment infusions are determined. In the article, the authors assess trends in the field of mechanical engineering, including some negative changes in investment in connection with the pandemic. The authors determine that in 2020, due to the negative economic and political situation in the country, the largest decrease in investment in the automotive industry. The priority directions of foreign investments in Ukraine for 2020 are considered and the processing industry, financial activity, trade and other directions of foreign investments are determined as the most priority branches. The main problems of investment activity development in Ukraine are highlighted and as a result of the conducted research the prospects of regulating the process of investment system development in Ukraine are determined. The authors present strategic guidelines for the formation of a positive investment climate in Ukraine and analyze the causes of an unfavorable investment climate. The authors propose a set of measures to improve the investment climate in Ukraine.
